Minutes of the Village Parish Council Meeting

The meeting of the Village Parish Council was held on Thursday 3rd June 1999 at 7:30 p.m. in the Committee Room, The Village Hall.

Present: Mrs. E. Higgins (Chair), Mr. J. Pendelton, Mr. R. Marsh, and Arnold Perdrix (Clerk).

Absentee: Mrs. A. Pendelton

  1. Minutes of the Annual General Meeting held on 12th May 1999

    The minutes of the Annual General Meeting held on 12th May 1999 were read, approved as a true record, and signed by the Chair.

    No amendments were proposed.

    Mr J Pendleton was offered sympathies regarding his wife.

  2. Parish web site

    The Clerk reported that the parish web site was in preparation and would be launched in August.

    Mrs. E. Higgins asked that hall booking forms be made available online.

    The Clerk confirmed this would be done.

    The Clerk further reported that the site would include:

    Parish Council minutes;

    local services;

    footpath guidance;

    planning applications;

    village hall information; and

    historical information where appropriate.

  3. Planning

    Applications 99/0388 and 99/0412 were noted.

    Comment deadlines as advertised.

    Application 99/0388 concerns alterations to a property bordering the Chapel Slope boundary.

    Application 99/0412 concerns access improvements near the eastern side of the village.

    No parish comment was recorded.

  4. Correspondence

    Mr. Marsh asked whether any further correspondence had been received regarding the missing persons.

    The Chair refuted this stating there were no missing persons from the village.

    The Clerk then stated that all correspondence had been placed in the restricted file.

    No further discussion took place.

    The meeting was temporarily adjourned at this point to investigate what appeared to be the sound of a person or animal in distress in the passageway outside the Committee Room windows.

  5. Eostre Day festival

    Mr Pendleton stated that the festivities had been spirited and had largely passed off without incident. Nevertheless the search was ongoing.

    Mrs. Higgins asked that all photographs from the Eostre Day festival be carefully reviewed before being made available to view on the web site.

    The Clerk said that photographs had been received but had not yet been reviewed.

    It was agreed that photographs would not be published without prior approval and that any showing anyone not currently identified as being resident in the village would be removed.

  6. Any other business

    The Clerk noted that web correspondence was filed without listing restricted schedules.

    Mrs. Higgins asked whether the schedules concerning the east bank remained secure.

    The Clerk confirmed that they did.

    Mr Pendleton asked if there were currently any visitors in the village.

    The Clerk stated "Not anymore."

  7. Date of next meeting

    Thursday 1st July 1999 at 7:30 p.m.

Records note

During preparation of the parish website, the Clerk created a folder containing photographs from the Eostre Day festival.

The folder was labelled:

MAY DAY 1999 — PUBLIC

Several photos were redacted, subject unknown, although one appeared to be of an empty chair with a coat draped on it.
